2nd and 3rd Day of Holiday

On the 22nd we went to swim in the Sheraton pool but after the 23rd of December we spent all our days by the pool in Sheikh Bakr villa and when the breakfast is ready they will call us out by the pool and we were also being served lunch by the pool side.

Dinner is prepared indoor.

First day of our Holiday in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.

The past days before we left for our Holiday Villa to Sharm El Sheikh, we have guests coming continuously to visit us. It was indeed long days and we were indeed very busy entertaining the guests. Per and his family was staying with us from Wednesday afternoon and we went out for dinner at the Piano Bar Restaurant that night. Since Anna wanted to go to disco and dance, we bought her to Hard Rock Cafe in Cairo where she actually enjoyed herself. We came home at 4 in the morning and they flew off to Sweden the next day.



Our house was actually pretty convenience for all friends to stay a night before their flight as we are near to the airport.
The next day we have Frederick and his family over to visit us as he is also flying home to Sweden for Christmas the next following day.

Finally on Friday 21st December 07 at 12.30, we packed and leave to Sharm. It took us almost 5 hour drive from Cairo to Sharm. We had 3 stop to fill the gas and a short stop in between to do some stretching.




Gabriel was indeed a very good boy and easy to handle even when he have to sit in the car for a long period of time.





We arrived the Villa in Sheraton around 6 and everyone was so hungry. We decided to put our bags and drove to a nearby downtown where we ended up in TGIFriday for dinner.
After dinner we took a short walk in Namma Bay and headed back to take a rest.


It was indeed very long days for the past few days for us, so we really needed this rest.

I think that night everyone slept well until Gabriel woke us up at 10am. Abdullah prepared us breakfast and later we went to the pool.



Gabriel and Daddy went for a long swim. The girls were in the water for a short while as they felt cold.
Obviously I was the only one who did not swim as I am not feeling too well. It has been 3 days now in Sharm and yet I am still not getting any better. I am down with flu and sitting by the pool with my full clothes and sweater on.



The next day we decided to stay around in the private pool instead of walking down to Sheraton pool.

We had two Swedish couple the next day who came to join their Christmas and New Year holiday here and they will also be with us until 2nd January.

Veldiner 15th Birthday

Veldiner turn 15 on the 16th December 2007. In fact we brought her out with the family to Grand Cafe restaurant and we had a nice dinner then we went to Cinnabon to have her favourite chocolate cinnabon.

She has a nice Italian Seafood Pasta.

It was a bit cold that night so we have to dress up warm.



Wanted to take the girls photo together but Gabriel keeps bugging in.

We know we did not do anything big that day except going out dinner with the family and by the way December are full of birthday.
Probably we can do something nice for your sweeet 16 next year.

Surprised Birthday Party Peter

A week of planning to do a surprise party for my husband, Peter, together with my good friend Gianni and Sarah has indeed been successful. Peter did not suspected anything until that night when he came into the door of our friend house where it was dark and suddenly everyone appreared out from the dark and sang for him a birthday song. He stood there smiling and feeling very happy to see all his friends gathered together. In fact all our friends are not allowed to park their cars in front of our house as Peter will recognised their cars when he comes out. So Gianni have been picking them up few meter away from where their cars are parked and drove them over to the house.

In fact we did the party few days before his actual day as it will be the most convenience day for everyone since it is over the weekend and people are not working the next following day.


He stood there in the doorway and everyone is giving him presents and sang him the birthday song. What a surprised.



Gianni called Peter exactly at 6.30 that evening pretending to ask Peter for help with his computer and Peter should come over to his house to take a look at it.


The kids will be going back to our house and order for themselves a home delivery KFC. Angela slept over at our house that night until the party was over and Sarah walk over to carry her back home that night.

While all the surprised was over,Elrener and Veldiner helped to carry over the food over to Sarah and Gianni house. We start the buffet soon after.



Gianni had prepared a nice pasta with vegetables. While Sarah has instructed her maid to cook Kofta and Tahina. The rest of the dish I made it at home. It was kind of difficult to cook so much food at home without him suspecting. I have to hide the number of chicken I cooked so he would not start to wonder why am I preparing so much dishes that day. All I said was that he is not allowed in the kitchen and whatever he needs it will be served. That was also successful.

We talk, had lots of fun and laughter.

Well, everyone commented that Peter cut the cake like he slice the damn salami real hard and throw it on the plate. What a big laugh for everyone.

Veldiner and Gabriel Ridding at a farm in Cairo

Our visit for Iftar to Khaled and Carrie has made us coming back there weekly. Veldiner has been ridding in Sweden for the past 3 years in a ridding school but somehow she stop taking ridding classes when we moved to Ireland and Spain. She rode twice when we were living in Ireland but that was all. After 2 years finally she started again here in Egypt. She had a French ridding teacher who only speaks French; it is excellent as she is learning French in her school now to practice the language there.
The first time I saw her climbing back again on the horse, she has never lost of what she has learnt during the last few years.




The ridding club was also a nice social place for all parents to meet while waiting for their kids.



There she is on top of a very big tall horse feeling very confident.




Gabriel was a very shy and he is afraid of being near to any horses before. After which he first tried with a small pony during Iftar in September which Shiekh Khaled whom manage to convinced him, telling him that it was nothing dangerous being around horses. From that time onwards, he rode every weekend when her sister is taking the lesson.

That Saturday, a friend of us came along to see the place and he was so impress of the greenery trees surrounding thre area and many nice friendly people whom we met there.

A Wonderful Day

The sun is shinning, the weekend is here and the kids are free from school. Woke up at 10 that day as we have been staying up late night the day before. Gianni was here that night. We were talking and planning exchanging ideas as always.

Met Raed On the Run just next to Marriott. Bought some drinks and we drove there. To my surprised, the place was so lively and we cannot compared to the time when we were there during Ramadan. It was so full of people everywhere, the music were played out loud, pop corn stand is open, more beach chair laying around, children activities are all over surrounding the area and we got a nice whole stretch of front beach chair for ourselves.

Lara had 2 children with her and Gabriel was playing with on of the boy, Bilat. Even though Bilat only speaks French, they played well the whle time when we were there. That is the beauty of kids!


We just arrived and everyone of us is everywhere doing what they have to do.

People going around in different costume trying to be friendly and playing with the children but it seems to give the opposite effect to most children. The kids got scared of them. Gabriel and Bilat ran back to us when the costume man came nearer to them. Gabriel hide under the towel.




While the rest is in the pool, Gianni took a small nap. Lara was taking the opportunity to sleep as the little son is by the pool with his dad. Since I decided not to be swimming that day, I went lay down and continue reading my book.
