SFI (Svenska för Invandrare)

Here I am back to school after so many years of being home, taking care of the children or either working.

Had to start with my last level of SFI D course now.

I know it is kind of strange systems sometimes in SFI and it can also turn out good if you're lucky ending up in the right school, class, get a good professional  teacher and of course if the classmate had the same level of knowledge as you are. If either one of these doesn't fits inside, it can be a little handicap situation.

The first day in school was a big disappointment as the teacher did not even present herself or at least tell me what the class is doing right in order for to know and would be able to follow up. Later they were divided into 3 groups and I was not in any of those group discussion but I was asked just to sit and see from my far corner. What a stupid thing to do. Didn't get any book or anything paper to write or read. Just being cast aside and felt invisible and wasted my time. A tiny sweet small Thai girl, called out for me to sit and join them in their discussion which I did eventually.

The second day was almost the same, everyone turn to the pages that was told by the teacher and start reading and doing the work while I was not given any book. She then told them to discuss and start working on it after reading them. I asked for a book but a short answer,"You'll get it later." Having no book to read, I just grab my own novel which I bought from home and read.

She was gone from the class for almost 90% of the time and an hr before we finished, she came back and finally she asked me to present myself to the class. Which I did and had several questions asked. It was pretty short and sharp presentation as I felt quiet upset about the whole situation of how I'hv been treated.

Later she get back to the book and start working together with the class which I just stared at the wall. Somehow I guess she must have seen my frustration that she asked someone to go and grab a new book for me next door in the locker. Arrggg"!!!!" why didn't she does that at the first lesson of the day, so I would be able to understand what those students have been doing since just now. Put aside my anger, I tried to participate in the subject.

SFI is a good support for all immigrant who came here to Sweden to learn the Swedish language here but somehow the systems of how to get it work smoothly has to be different.  Some students are not even able to talk fuently and understand what others speaks. Of course I understand and that is the reason we are there to learnt but why do they mixed up those who can understand a lot and those who can't be in one class.

I fucking hate that pedantic, patronising lame-ass sonofabiyatch!!! What the hiew man - in Lilies language. So KNNBCCB. What the fuck is it's problem? I know your there to learn, and that you are a gracious person, but I HATE this kind of... of, of... attitude. Teachers have a service to fulfil. First world countries shd treat people fairly. One should treat others they one wants to be treated, etc, etc. Aren't there any other similar set ups in which you could learn the language?
