My Past Time

Just only recently eversince I moved back to Sweden, I picked up a pretty simple hobby. Actually, previously, few years back I did gather my old accessories and totally make them look new again.
Somehow this is different. I went to Pearl shop here in Stockholm and started creating my own earings, neckless and head band.
I mixed and match with my own taste and feeling. I love the different colours of stone combination with all sorts of design you would want to use to make on your own creativity.

Below are few earings, neckless and also head band which has been completed couple of weeks ago. I am still on my next casual looking neckless and probably more earings.

Spring in Stockholm, Sweden

Spring started a couple of weeks ago and some days can be very nice with beautiful sun shine and absolutely no jacket is needed. Somehow the night can surprises us with the big great difference as the temperature can fluctuate with at least 10 degree difference. We do get our few bonus lucky weather and we spent it very carefully and worship every moment of it.

Below are few photos which we took while we went for our nice walk around Uppsala.

Elrener, Veldiner AND Gabriel on their small walk on the pathment after the visit to one of the most exclusive church.

Gabriel, what are you looking at honey ?

Sunday, 26th April we packed some small picnic with us and we drove by to a nice family park. Gabriel was infact very excited to have his picnic that day.

This is one of the many things that happened when we sat down. He started posing. Well in fact there are few more others of his posing but I guess I will shorten it with only 2 posing photos to be published at the moment.

Then came Gabriel rushing to his sister, Veldiner and wants to be with her.

Shortly after we felt kinda hungry, so I took out some small sandwiches that I had prepared back home. We spread them out and started eating. That was actually good to have packed up some small food along with with us. The only thing that we bought there was 3 packet of juice which I totally forgot to bring along, plus 2 ice cream for our children.
Anyway ice cream can be a little bit tough to pack in the picnic bag.

Peter and Me. Taken by Gabriel Törnquist. Not a bad photographer my boy.

The view of the lake from where we sitting. We had choosen to be close to the playground so Gabriel could run forward and back to us easily but instead he never went to the playgound by himself. He said that the playground is too small for him.
What a boy....

To the left there is a horse stable and other small animal, such as rabbits, goat etc for the kids to play with.

This is obviously taken far away and we did not even notice it. Probably Peter is spying on us when he is away.

Few Updates of my absent.

I know I have been so lazy updating my blog lately. First of all, I have most of my friend's contact whom are already in FB and with which we normally kept our daily details updating photos and activities.

Anyway this is mom and me at Botanical Garden. We took a long walk with the kids. My mom was so tired after the long walk and hot sun. We stop by the food court and had our lunch.

Not easy to go back to Sweden again and leaving them behind especially knowing that we hardly even get the chance to meet once a year.

Well since I was in Singapore for the whole month of February, I had absolutely nothing particularly to write. Somehow one thing we knew was that we had a lot of fun.

Gabriel took a ride somewhere in the Singapore ZOO.

This is one of the many dishes that I love, Murtabak.

YES, being able to eat Singaporean food again is like heaven. I get to taste all sorts of different range of food everyday. Wouldn't wanna miss those chance.

This is dad grilling the Potato,Satay, otak otak, chicken, meat etc.

Singapore is well famous of their satay and it is something not to be miss when you come to Singapore.

Gabriel who have never been to Singapore since he was born seems to be enjoying himself every sec of his moment there. The only problem he had there is the heat rash which have been disturbing him mostly. I felt sorry looking at his skin and even after bringing him to the doctor the rashes seems to be badly effected.

Jonas came to Singapore a week after and we went to Downtown east for a weekend where we BBQ and I remember he ate so much satay too.

Gabriel loves the Roti Prata which he had for breakfast couple of times. Seeing people eating Nasi Lemak and all sorts of noodle for breakfast, Gabriel was shocked at the beggining and he kept asking me that,"It is not lunch or dinner yet now right, mom?" Well, I explain to him that his mother culture here in Singapore. He later understood and there was no further question after that. He was infact a pretty easy boy with food. He ate all sorts of different food that we gave him but only once in a while he would asked for his cheese with bread or Yogurd for breakfast. Otherwise he stick to the roti prata and now that the new version of Roti Prata with Cheese is available, he just love it. Dip dip with lots of curry.

I also got the chance to visit my late brother Nahar Azmi grave whom left us in 2002.

I hope to get to see more of my Singaporean friends the next time I am there as I did not get to see most of them this time as I am mostly with the family and companying my mom day in and day out since I have not met her for the last couple of years.
Hopefully if everything goes well, I am coming back with all my family in the summer again and stays there for the whole summer. Cross my fingers that it will happen.

This is one of Gabriel's favourite activities in Singapore. The water theme park seems to be everywhere we go.

My favourite Niece and Nephew.

Then came this month of March. It is my WEDDING ANNIVERSARY today. Sadly to say Peter is not here. He had made an earlier plan to leave for Egypt for the furniture fair the whole of this week and be back only next week.

My Birthday 7th January 2009

I turn 37 years old on the 7th January 09, Wednesday.
Cruise to Tallinn, Estonia.
We left Stockholm ferry terminal on Tuesday, 6th January 09 at 6 in the evening and arrived Tallinn the next following day at 10 in the morning.
We spent our day walking around in the old town and had our lunch in one of the restaurant in the old building in the told town square.
After few hrs of walking, Elrener could not feel her feet and she is so cold, so we have to stop and bought her a pair thick of warm sock. Which helps her for couple of hrs eventually until we get back to the ferry in the afternoon.

Somehow I realized, the Estonian are not that friendly and service minded people. Either I was unlucky to have met only the unfriendly ones or was it the blood in them. Anyway it doesn't bother me that much as I am surrounded by great family and friends.
We went to bed at pretty reasonably good time.

Thanking everyone for such a lovely and memorable Birthday.

Christmas Ski holiday, 2008

The Active Holiday.

The Törnquist family gather together on the 20th December in Åre to 28th December to celebrate Christmas and we went skiing almost together everyday.
It was the first time for Gabriel to ski. As for Ellie and Vel, they had been skiing few years back when we were still living in Sweden. In fact we went skiing once or twice a week before as we lived near a ski slope. We stop when we left Sweden and now we decided to start again. Somehow it has been 6 years since the last time we skies. I thought I would have forgotten but somehow I am very surprised that I still remember how to ski. It is not that good though and little tense with the slippery slope and speed.

Peter taught Gabriel how to stand, slide, bend on his ski. He started on the easiest children slope first and when he could take the ski lift himself, Peter took him onto a slightly steeper slope. He get the grasp of it slowly.
Since farmor (grandmother) was also skiing with her grandchildren. Ellie, Vel and her ski together. They even had couple of race down the slope together.

In fact, I love the healthy lifestyle we had those couple of days there, when we woke up in the morning, had breakfast together and started putting on our ski clothes and there we go.
